Boy Reading, bonded bronze, features a child sitting on the steps engrossed on his book. The subject of children reading is very important to me in particular because as a child growing up in an isolated part of Brazil, I didn't have many books to read. For a time, books were the most precious gift that anyone could give a child. I never received such gift at that time but the subject of books grew with me. Today I've written several manuscripts for children and the subject inspired me to sculpt two sculptures that are similar in lines and shapes. In my heart I know that I'll continue writing and sculpting this subject in many other shapes and forms.
