"When pigs fly, they will choose to be the pilot. This sculpture is a half-scale model of the Wright Brother’s first plane. It amazes me that the original had a 40 ft. wing span. They built their own water-cooled engine and the instrument cluster consisted of an air speed indicator, a stop watch and a fuel shut off valve. I think any pig would be happy to fly this plane."
Dale Lewis is an Electrical Technician and Machinist who worked for a specialized machine builder. He quit his real job and was rehabbing houses for a couple of years before the real-estate collapse. By 2006 he found himself with plenty of time to experiment with making mosaic sculptures. In early 2010, realizing his hobby had become an obsession he bought equipment and started making stainless steel sculptures. My goals are simple, to get bigger and better and make people smile.
