The giant sequoia trees and the cascading waterfalls of Yosemite National Park inspired this sculpture. We tried to evoke the strength, texture, and natural wonders of the park using the unnatural elements of metal and paint. W think the key to accomplishing this is through abstraction. Abstract art can take you places that literal definitions cannot. Abstraction requires the viewer to bring his or her imagination, relationships, own experiences, and childhood memories to the viewing.
